LAIICDD NEWS By Mary Bosman, LAIICDD Community Director The LA II Board has been very busy acting on requests of the residents. Some of the areas of discussion include the following: The construction was approved to build a golf cart path connecting Sawgrass and the existing golf cart path. A professional evaluation will be scheduled to evaluate the Pickleball courts and will be reviewed by the LA II Board at a future meeting. Consideration and adoption of a term sheet for the Refunding of the Series 2006 A Bonds and a vote for authorizing staff to prepare the necessary documents for closing occurred. Pet play areas will get a rehabilitation plan developed for future Board funding consideration. A resident funded project was approved for Winged Foot Lane pet play area. The Pebble Beach/Rattlesnake Lake wetland project was discussed. The maintenance agreement failed on a vote pending further discussion. Security was discussed and LA II CDD will have manned security 8 hours daily going forward. Projects that are currently being completed as a result of previous LA II Board approval, include the new recumbent bike in the Fitness Center, new flooring in the Racquetball and Sports Courts, new LED lighting in the HFC, new windscreens and a securing rail have been added to the pickleball courts, electric hand dryers and ADA door openers have been installed in the HFC bathrooms. Also, the HFC and West Gate House have been painted on the exterior along with the front doors to the HFC being refinished. The water volleyball net has been replaced and a new pool stop clock are in place in addition to the entry landscape beds being redone on Ashton Boulevard. At the Joint BOS Meeting, the new rate for the non-resident user fee was voted to be increased to $4,000/annually. This is a safeguard for all residents so that they never pay more than a non-resident to use the Lake Ashton amenities. The Joint Amenity Policy report will be presented at the next Joint BOS meeting on April 18, 2022.
