WINTER HAVEN CITY COMMISSION RUNOFF ELECTION DECEMBER 2 Our three guest judges picked their favorite participants and they were award the Judge’s Choice Awards. The Lake Ashton Democratic and Republican Clubs continue to encourage civic engagement and voter participation in our community. Lake Ashton has a significant impact on the outcome of local elections which are oftentimes decided by a few votes. A runoff election for Winter Haven City Commission will take place on Tuesday, December 2. Winter Haven residents can vote in person at Cypress Ridge Presbyterian (6230 Cypress Gardens Boulevard). LA DEMOCRATIC CLUB By Howard Mayne The Lake Ashton Democratic Club will hold their next monthly meeting Thursday, December 4 in the HFC Community Center at 6:30 pm with social time at 6 pm. There is no speaker, but we do have activities planned. Guests are welcome and encouraged. LA REPUBLICAN CLUB By Bud Colburn There is no Lake Ashton Republican Club (LARC) meeting in December. HOWL-O-WEEN PET COSTUME CONTEST On a cool Halloween morning, some furry members of our community united to show off their adorable costumes in the Annual Pet Costume Contest. Donations to the Humane Society of Polk County were collected at the event and, with a generous matching donation from Tessier Law Firm, our community donated $250!
