LA TRAVELERS By Laurie Cayton & Carolyn Bishop Ballroom for a Social Hour and Rally Update from 3:30 to 5 pm. If you ever wondered what the LA Travelers are all about, come socialize with us. The Lake Ashton Travelers headed up to Ocala, FL in October to enjoy a Rally at Silver Springs State Park. Rally participants enjoyed excursions such as visiting Don Garlits Drag Racing Museum and taking a glass bottom boat tour. The Rally was well attended and included a movie under the starlight. DUPLICATE BRIDGE By Don Fuller & Liz Leigh Duplicate bridge is played on Monday at 12:45 pm in the Clubhouse Card Room. The game is open to all residents regardless of skill level. Participants should have some experience playing bridge plus a partner is required. We have approximately 60 players in the group and can assist new players in finding a partner. Advance registration is encouraged by using the Red Book in the Clubhouse Card Room, or contacting Don Fuller at dfuller627@yahoo.com to register or receive more information. The LA Travelers headed down to West Palm Beach for a 4 night rally at the Lion Country Safari KOA. Friends, fellowship and food was plentiful. A drive through the Lion Country Safari was the highlight. Rock painting and sea glass art was offered to the creative travelers and an Escape Room adventure challenged several of our members. The group is the longest running club in Lake Ashton with over 160 current members, and one of the largest FMCA Chapters in the Southeast. The annual Christmas Party will be held on December 8 in the Clubhouse. If you want to join the group, contact either Maureen Sim who heads up the membership drive until December 31 at 863-604-0309. After that contact Lori Thomas who will serve as the new Vice President over Memberships at 931-809-0705.
