Enjoy time with friends and family while basking in the beautiful Florida sun this holiday season. The community entrance and Clubhouse are decked out with lights and holiday décor to add to the festivity of the season. Thank you to the volunteers that help with decorating. There are several activities scheduled such as the Annual Holiday parade, Christmas Dinner Dance, and a Rockin' New Year's Eve Party, in the Ballroom. In addition, residents can celebrate Hanukkah with friends and neighbors by attending the outdoor Menorah lighting in the Clubhouse East parking lot. Some of the most rewarding community traditions involve volunteering and giving to those in need. Think about donating to a local charity, dropping off a gift to the Caring Tree, volunteering your time at a local food bank, or helping out a friend or neighbor in need. While it is the traditional season for celebrating, some in the community are in emotional pain and struggling to get through the month. Grieving friends and neighbors can use some extra care during the holidays. Those who have recently lost loved ones can be helped by others being supportive and inclusive. Suggestions from hospice professionals: invite a neighbor along to a community celebration, ask if they are interested in volunteering, offer to help with decorating or baking, send a special holiday card, or be willing to listen. Lake Ashton is known for being a caring community and there is no better time of year to care for thy neighbor. The Board of Supervisors met on November 28 to review Restaurant proposals. A wrap up report will be sent after the meeting to inform residents of actions taken. A joint Board of Supervisors meeting will be held on January 20 to discuss the Joint Amenity Facilities Policy. Visit lakeashtoncdd.com to find minutes, agendas, and meeting schedule. Supervisors and Staff would like to wish residents a happy holiday season and best wishes for the New Year! Congratulations to the New CDD Board Members Supervisor Brenda Van Sickle was sworn in and joined the LACDD Board of Supervisors on November 28. Supervisor Mike Costello and Supervisor Debby Landgrebe were re-elected to serve an additional 4-year term on the LACDD Board of Supervisors.
