EVENTS JUNETEENTH BLOCK PARTY AND CELEBRATION By Pamela June The Lake Ashton Black Heritage Club recently hosted a spectacular Juneteenth Block Party and Celebration on June 21, and it was a resounding success! The event, held in the Clubhouse Parking Lot, brought together community members, friends and family for an afternoon that was not only filled with a sense of unity, celebration and joy, but also provided an opportunity for reflection and education. The block party featured a variety of activities that kept attendees engaged and entertained. From raffles and dancing to music and games, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The atmosphere was vibrant, with people of all ages coming together to commemorate the significance of Juneteenth and celebrate freedom, community and heritage. We are grateful for the overwhelming support and participation from residents and guests alike. See back cover for pictures! FALL FESTIVAL It’s already time to prepare for the Clubhouse’s annual Fall Festival on November 1 from 2 to 5 pm in the west parking lot. The Festival will raise money for Alzheimer’s Awareness in partnership with Team Sam, LA resident Judy Puntuieri’s team. If you are interested in volunteering for the dunk tank, email Caroline at clane@lakeashtoncdd.com. We need 3 more volunteers!
