LAKE ASHTON COMMUNITY ACTION COMMITTEE By Shelley Miller The booming residential housing developments in our area are straining the roads, water, sewer and power we all enjoy. The LA Community Action Committee was formed to advocate for changes we would like to see to ensure the safety and welfare of our residents. The planned widening of Thompson Nursery Road has been a high priority concern. The Polk Board of County Commissioners recently earmarked $26.7 million in their next fiscal budget for Thompson Nursery Road Phase 2 (West Lake Ruby Road to US-27).
