LAVA AUXILIARY By Chris Graves & Joan DiBattista Thanks to the Lake Ashton residents and members of the LAVA Auxiliary and LAVA, $1800 was raised to purchase 360 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies for troops! The two young sisters, Josephine, a Brownie, and Victoria, a Daisy, spoke at the February joint LAVA and LAVA Auxiliary meeting. They proudly shared stories and pictures of their relatives who have served in the military. The relatives who have served go back to a greatgreat-grandparent. The next meeting of the LAVA Auxiliary is April 20 at 6:30 pm in the Ballroom, close to the stage. LAVA Auxiliary is open to all those who love our country and want to support our veterans. SAVE THE DATE: The 2022 Craft Show is October 22, and crafters are needed! You can reserve a table for $50 to sell your handcrafted items at this fundraiser. Call Joan at 239-851-7899. The month of May is National Military Appreciation Month (NMAM) . Celebrate your patriotism during the month by placing red, white and blue bows on your mai boxes and golf carts. LAVA Auxiliary will have bows available for purchase at Monday Coffee for $5 a bow. SINGLES GROUP By Maureen Ziegler LA Singles is a social group that plans activities for single residents. The group meets monthly on the first Sunday of the month at 2 pm in the Clubhouse Ballroom. In March, the group of over 20 discussed several planned outings and get togethers. Plans were discussed for a trip to the Polk County History Museum in Bartow and the Polk Art Museum in Lakeland.
