GOLF LAMGA By Paul Fichtman LAMGA’s March was highlighted by the very popular 3-day Member – Guest tournament held from March 10th - 12th. The tournament was kicked off with a Pre-tournament Party consisting of Pizza, Wings, Hors d’oeuvres and beer sponsored by Chris Bruser, Reverse Mortgage Specialist – Mutual of Omaha. 60 two-man teams competed through 5 nine-hole rounds of match play for $2,400 in prize money. The top 3 teams in each of 10 flights won $120, $80 and $40 in Pro Shop credits per team for finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The tournament included breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Friday and a closing Awards Luncheon on Saturday. Thursday’s breakfast was sponsored by Burris Warner of Amerity Financial. Snowbird Heating and Cooling sponsored a Hole in One contest on Friday for which the prize was a new, installed A/C unit plus they hosted a tent with free beer, snacks and beverages. Art’s Golf Cars sponsored Friday’s Closest to the Pin on all 4 par 3s: the four winners each won a $200 gift certificate for merchandise in the Eagle’s Nest or Pro Shop. Finally, Red Hoagland Hyundai and Snowbird Heating & Cooling sponsored a Closest to the Pin Shootout on Thursday and Friday, respectively. Each team that was closest to the pin in their Flight won $25 in Pro Shop credits. A list of all our sponsors, sorted by category, is posted on the LAMGA, Lake Ashton Living and Talk of Lake Ashton web sites as well as on the bulletin board in the Pro Shop. The LAMGA also wants to extend special thanks to all the wives who volunteered to help with the tournament registration and the Pro Shop and Eagle’s Nest staffs for helping to run the best tournament to date. April’s schedule includes: 4/6 – Best Net A&D, B&C; 4/13 – Pick Your Foursome, 1 Gross, 2 Nets; 4/20 – Pick 10 Holes and; 4/27 – Quota Points.
