LACDD NEWS BY CHRIS TINE WELLS, LACDD COMMUNIT Y DIREC T OR For over a year now residents have overcome many adversities and remained optimistic and resilient. Expressions of hope, gratitude, comfort, and compassion echoed throughout the community in the form of socially distant block parties, homemade cloth masks for other residents and healthcare professionals, parades to celebrate birthdays and holidays, assorted scavenger hunts, marketplace drive-thru ordering events and food drives, food trucks, and more. Many residents have become virtual experts on Zoom, using the platform to attend at-home exercise and craft classes, club meetings and other activities, including virtual Monday Coffee meetings, and Board of Supervisors meetings. The community came together to create a positive environment out of what could have quickly become a negative one, always thinking of others in Lake Ashton and surrounding communities. With vaccines being offered to residents in the Clubhouse recently, there is a great sense of accomplishment and relief among Supervisors, staff, and all of the volunteers that helped with all of these special programs. It has been our pleasure to help residents through this tough time. We are still all in this together! Supervisors and Staff would like to wish residents a Happy Passover and Happy Easter. April is also Volunteer Appreciation Month and there certainly are many volunteers here to appreciate. CDD Supervisors, HOA Directors and ARC members work hard every day to help keep the community beautiful and in compliance. CERT, CAP, and Neighborhood Watch help keep the community safe. Activities Desk and Media Center Volunteers ensure the amenities at the Clubhouse are organized, assist staff, and help residents with getting the information they need in an efficient manner. Finally club, group, organization, and special event volunteers help to ensure the community remains active and fun! Thank you for all you do. Take a look at the back cover for ways LACDD and LAIICDD Supervisors and Staff will be saying “Thank You” during Volunteer Appreciation Week. 260.820.0389, rplummer@lakeashtoncdd.com Michael Costello, Vice Chairman Clubhouse Facilities including Outdoor Amenities (Dog Park, Pool, Sports Courts) 863.875.9228 or 732.718.7431, mcostello@lakeashtoncdd.com Lloyd Howison, Assistant Secretary - Golf Cart Paths, Bridges and all Ponds 704.302.6555, lhowison@lakeashtoncdd.com Harry Krumrie, Assistant Secretary - Restaurant 407.766.9237, hkrumrie@lakeashtoncdd.com Steve Realmuto, Assistant Secretary - Budget, Finance, Reserve Study 863.949.0304, steve.lacdd@gmail.com Office Hours: Mondays, 10 am to Noon, Clubhouse Conference Room 6 At the March 15 Board of Supervisors meeting Supervisors voted to increase capacities at the Clubhouse amenities while continuing to require masks at all indoor amenities and enforce 6 feet social distance.
