It could be understood that majority of the respondents are using plastic cups, which are easily available in the market and has long usage. Among Kalkulam taluk, 21.4 per cent (30) are using coconut shell, 28.6 per cent (40) are using plastic cup and remaining 50 per cent (70) are using both the cups. Among Vilavancode taluk, 27.3 per cent (30) are using coconut shell, 50 per cent (55) are using plastic cup and remaining 22.7 per cent (25) are using both the cups. Among Thovalai taluk, 30 per cent (15) are using coconut shell, 60 per cent (30) are using plastic cup and remaining 10 per cent (5) are using both the cups.
