MESSAGE FROM THE EO Dear HBRA Members, I hope that you will take a few moments out of your busy schedule to read through the Building Connections Magazine. The HBRA of Fairfield County has several upcoming events and opportunities we encourage you to take advantage of as a member of this association. There are important legislative updates, information on trainings and events, rebates and member rewards you may not be aware of, and housing news on a national and local scale. We also have a new classified sections where members can post requests, offerings, and other industry related information. I’d like to make particular mention of the upcoming Trades Breakfast at J.M. Wright Technical School. Skilled labor and subcontractor shortages have become a widespread and growing challenge for builders nationwide. In a study conducted by NAHB in late 2017, 3 out of 4 builders cited a shortage of framers and carpenters. This breakfast is a unique opportunity to connect with the students in our industry soon entering the workforce. Also, please make sure you register for legislative night coming up on March 7th.
