This all happened in the late 1970’s, and my mother and aunt were very proud of being an integral part of this project. Both my mother Doris Jeanne Thibadeau Biegel and my aunt Noreen Thibadeau Swanz (who have both since passed) are official members of “Sons and Daughters of Montana Pioneers”, and were extremely proud of her deep Montana pioneer heritage to the day they died. Matilda Marries Count Zebulon Bonaparte Thibadeau Following the death of William and Clara Dalton in January of 1864, Matilda was left with three younger siblings to care for, which was a near impossible task for a young 19 year old girl in a wild gold rush town.
