GROUPS, CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS Advocacy & Activism Cobourg Toastmasters Club The Cobourg Toastmasters Club has been helping people in Cobourg and the surrounding region for 18 years. Through the Toastmasters educational program, their aim is to provide practical communication and leadership skills to help members become confident speakers, presenters and leaders. We meet every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at Trinity United Church. Contact Information: 368.toastmastersclubs.org Canadian Federation of University Women Northumberland CFUW Northumberland was founded in 1991 and is one of over 100 Clubs existing across Canada. The group has over 100 members drawn from Cobourg, Port Hope and the surrounding townships. They seek to promote lifelong learning and promote education and advocacy for gender equality and the rights of women and girls. CFUW-N raises funds annually for bursaries and scholarships for women across Northumberland County in a range of programs for further education including apprenticeships. Through regular meetings and interest groups, CFUW-N members have the opportunity to make friends and enjoy the benefits of learning, socializing, supporting one another and working together for positive change in our communities. All women who support lifelong learning are welcome.
