Singing Groups & Bands Choral Legacy Choral Legacy is a local women's choir who sing three part harmony in a wide variety of musical styles – from classical to jazz to show tunes. Although a working knowledge of music is helpful, the group rehearse note by note so that all musical skill levels are welcome. From the Cobourg Highland Games to numerous parade appearances, Remembrance Day recognitions to summertime sunset piping, band members are proud and active participants in the multicultural fabric of our community and our country. The band motto, “Pride of Performance”, has gained a fine reputation especially in the formal concert setting of the band’s own Summer Concert Series every Tuesday evening in the months of July and August at the Victoria Park Bandshell. The band always welcomes new members to the organization when positions are open. The choir sings anthem in a variety of musical styles, from classical to gospel to world music. Rehearsals focus on vocal technique, repertoire, and occasional special projects. La Jeunesse Choirs is the best place to foster a love of music, singing, and performing in a supportive and fun environment. There are three groups: Les Petits, aged 4-6 to play, learn, and explore music, Les Choristes, our main choir for choristers aged 7-19, and Les Dramatiques, a Musical Theatre intensive program (information about the 2025 Spring production coming soon!). The group sings a fun variety of music from Pop and Motown to Folk, to a touch of Country and Blues. The choir learns from recorded tracks so there is no requirement to read music. No auditions necessary! Contact Information: shoutsisterchoir.ca Northumberland Orchestra and Choir The Northumberland Orchestra and Choir (NOC) is a not-for-profit organization and Northumberland County’s first and foremost purveyor of beautiful orchestral and choral music. With over 100 performing members in both the orchestra and choir, the NOC performs 6-8 concerts per year including performances in collaboration with SONG (Sounds of the Next Generation), Kawartha Lakes Singers, La Jeunesse Choir, La Jeunesse Youth Orchestra, Quinte Symphony and many talented and internationally renowned guests.
