Since 1984, it has evolved into a national hub for documenting, preserving, and celebrating Canadian firefighting heritage and safety awareness. The collection highlights the vital roles of firefighters across Canada, representing all sectors — professional, volunteer, industrial, military, wildland, and airport firefighters. It features firefighting apparatus from three eras: Hand Drawn (1754-1902), Horse Drawn (1850-1938), and Motorized (1907-present), along with fire helmets, hydrants, vintage trucks, and more.
