ECCLES LADIES Our ladies section welcome newly promoted Sale 1861 to Gorton street for their first home game of the season. Sale come off the back of a promotion winning season last time out and have made a great start to their league campaign, they will prove a real test for our ladies. After a disappointing start against a very experienced Manchester side. The ladies are hoping that home advantage and a bolstered squad serves as the final pieces of the puzzle for our first win of the season. After two very physical weeks of training lots has been learnt and taught, as our squad continues to swell the pool of knowledge, talent and experience deepens. It is testament to our club and our outstanding Womens and Girls section that the numbers of female players is growing in all sections. Eccles RFC has always championed our ladies section treating them with the same respect as a first team men's section this faith and forward thinking has allowed us to grow to a centre for women's rugby in Greater Manchester. A special mention this week must go to our recently injured fly half and all round good guy Georgia Cunliffe. Georgia is a product of our junior section and has been playing in the 1XV since her 17th birthday. She is a constant source of good humour and creativity, a real asset to any team and we are very lucky to have her. Unfortunately she is likely to spend quite some time on the sidelines, but we want her to know that her 1XV shirt is hung up on the peg waiting for her whenever she is ready to return. Get well soon G. If you are ready to take the next step up in your rugby career, ready to try something new or have been looking at those old boots thinking I've still got a bit in me then come down to Eccles RFC because Eccles Ladies is the place for you.
