ECCLES JUNIORS Eccles Mini and Junior teams have enjoyed a record-breaking Autumn term…With over 20 new, registered members in November alone, our M&J community has welcomed lots of new faces into the Eccles family. Our Under 5s enjoy the early Sunday morning slot on our all-weather pitch. From 'Rob the Nest' to 'THE FLOOR IS LAVA', our fun-loving coaches are bringing the madness and there's smiles all around. With our reception age members growing and growing, we're always on the lookout for adult helpers...so any keen parents please contact us on a Sunday morning. The U6s have quickly progressed to a fully-fledged, tag rugby machine! Coming out of weekly lockdown zoom training…all of the sock squatting and toilet roll tossing has led to a committed set of kids that have an excellent core skillset! Despite a heavy Autumn fixture schedule for the U7s, U8s and U9s, the excitement of game time and growing camaraderie has built huge numbers of committed minis, parents and volunteers. Away days to Sale, Rochdale, Southport, Trafford and Old Bedians have all bolstered the size and strength of the best Minis section in the North. Our U9s have commenced ‘Friday Night Lights’ training sessions as they ready themselves for contact rugby in January! Committed coaches and on-field intensity means our U10s and U11s remain unbeaten this season. The word is out and our local schools coach Dan has sparked an influx of new players. Aggressive defending and support in attack is building a blueprint for success in these booming age grades. The early work of our Community Rugby Coach James has seen our U12s and U13s enjoy a steady growth in new talent. Bonding and building is the order of the day for these lads and we’re proud of the growing community of eager parents and players as they progress each week!
