SOCIAL EVENTS Many thanks to everyone at the club who supported our Macmillan coffee morning at the club last weekend, which raised an incredible and best-ever total of £929.45 for macmillan cancer support We're very grateful to all who you gave so generously, including all the baking donations and all the volunteers who manned the stall. A huge well done to former Ladies Captain Shelley Maddocks for organising the event and continuing to drive this annual event to new heights of success every year. At the beginning of the month our long awaited limited edition Eccles RFC Heritage Shirts arrived. There are still a few shirts that remain uncollected. Please contact Hilary to make arrangements to pick yours up before it joins the '100 years of Hoops’ washing line on the balcony! Up Coming Social Events for October Saturday 9th October - 2XV at home v Warrington (cup) KO 15:00, followed by Super League Grand Final @ 18:00 Friday 15th – Tutored Tasting Evening. See web site & book your place, limited numbers. Saturday 16th – 1XV team fixture (TBC) plus a post match First Chop 'Tap Takeover' with all hand pumps being dedicated to beers from the club sponsor, whose Brewery is located just 500m away down Gorton Street. This will offer a wide range of ales, some of which are not normally available on a hand pull. Sunday 17th – Eccles Jnr Colts v Clitheroe (KO 12:30), Eccles Ladies v Sale (KO 14:30). With Junior fixtures in the morning, a mid-day Colts game and Ladies to finish off, a busy day at the club with the remaining First Chop Beers available to the eager thirsty supporters. Look out for special promotions on the day. Saturday 30th October - Halloween Night Party – keep your eyes on the club web site for details of the Horror Show that awaits. Up Coming Social Events for December Plans are underway for a Festive Fossils Night Out and Saturday 18th December has been pencilled for our Annual Christmas Brass Band Carol Concert - everyone welcomed and all to be confirmed.
