VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT! Sheldon Duffy & Mike Pritts Sheldon Duffy, born and raised in Los Angeles, received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Presently, he is enrolled in Colorado College’s Master’s of Arts in Teaching program. Last year, Duffy retired from the Army after a 28-year career, serving in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait. As he enters his second career, Duffy is excited about spending the summer with the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum because of his love for Colorado history and looks forward to incorporating it into US History lessons. Mike Pritts retired from Fort Carson in 2016 after 30 years of service with U.S. Army Special Forces. He was selected as a 2016 Tillman Military Scholar by the Pat Tillman Foundation and is currently a graduate candidate in Colorado College’s Master’s of Arts in Teaching program. At the conclusion of the summer, Pritts will teach Global Studies, the History of Modern Warfare and coach football at Fountain-Fort Carson High School.
