Duo succeeds through symbolism, minimalism, and warmth. All the scenes contain just two colours and very few objects, but the use of grainy pencil lines and a subtle, flowing background texture manage to provide just enough depth and detail to keep the eye interested. The playful characterization and animation of the two protagonists capture the attention and the imagination, also because their interactions are wordless. The absence of dialogue and the simple human truth at the heart of this video make Duo a piece of creativity that can communicate effectively all around the world.
