GOVERNANCE & DIRECTORS The Confident Girls Foundation is a not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee and a registered charity with the ACNC. Netball Australia is the sole member, with donations taxdeductible via the Australian Sports Foundation. The Board, appointed by Netball Australia, provides strategic oversight and ensures compliance under a formal governance framework. Directors are unpaid and act with independence and integrity, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to strong governance and transparency. VICKI GILLESPIE, GAICD, CHAIR Vicki Gillespie is a seasoned business professional with a passion for driving organisational growth and transformation. With over 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles, Vicki has established herself as a trusted advisor and strategic thinker. Her expertise lies in corporate governance, business development, and change management. Vicki is also the Chair of Data Capture Experts and Huddle Haus. As a graduate of the AICD, Vicki remains committed to fostering good governance practices while making a positive impact on the lives of others. CAITLIN THWAITES Caitlin Thwaites played professional netball for 18 years and represented the Australian Diamonds for nearly a decade. Having played for various teams in both Australia and New Zealand, she has a profound understanding of the sport's landscape. Caitlin has always had a passion for helping others, using netball as a vehicle to connect with communities and organisations to drive and inspire social change. She has been involved with the Confident Girls Foundation since its inception, witnessing its evolution and increasing impact and reach. On court, Caitlin's achievements are remarkable, having competed in two Commonwealth Games, two World Championships, and celebrated Vixens Premiership wins in 2009 and 2020. Her extensive experience and success in netball, combined with her dedication to community engagement, make her an invaluable asset to our board. 22 | MARIA WILTON, AM, CFA, FAICD, FAIST Maria has broad experience in business, finance and governance having held leadership positions in investment management and superannuation. She is a Member of the global Board of Governors of the CFA Institute and Chair of Spirit Super & Growth Farms Australia. She is currently serving as a Director of Dexus Wholesale Property Fund, Victorian Funds Management Corporation, Deputy Chair of Infrastructure Victoria and the State Investment Advisory Board (Queensland). She has extensive experience as Chair of business forums and Audit and Risk and Investment Committees. She holds a Batchelor of Economics from the University of Tasmania and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder.
