Be proactive and initiate planning at all levels early in the hurricane season 2. Seek to create a culture of mutual support among key officials 3. Share information about plans with the public on a consistent basis 4. Complete or update all critical MOUs before the peak of the hurricane season in August/ September The Caribbean region has a wealth of experience in preparing for and responding to hurricanes. The same cannot be said for the COVID-19 crisis but the crisis requires the use of leadership, management, teamwork and outreach principles that are well known to many.
