For example, performance management informs training and development; recruitment and selection are based on a sound compensation policy; HR planning which includes design of job descriptions is linked to performance management and recruitment and selection; health and safety of employees is an integral component of Employee Relations; and so on. From a micro perspective, having effective HR systems and practices in place influences performance from the individual level up to the organisational level.
