NOTIFICATION OF REGULATORY IMPACT STATEMENT The Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) is a statutory body established under Section 3 (1) of the Engineers Act 2011 and is responsible for the registration of engineers and engineering firms, regulation of engineering professional services, setting of standards, development and general practice of engineering. Section 58 of the Engineers Act, 2011 provides that the Board may, with the approval of the Cabinet Secretary make rules generally for the better carrying into effect the provisions of the Act. The Board in consultation with the office of the Attorney General has finalized the Engineers Rules 2018 and the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works has approved. Pursuant to Section 8 of the Statutory Instruments Act No. 23 of 2013, the Board has prepared a regulatory impact statement for the Engineers Rules, 2018.
