The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has a safety standard for the servicing of single-piece and multi-piece rim wheels (OSHA std 29 CFR 1910.177) to include requirements for the safe servicing of rims used on passenger, truck, trailers, buses and off-road vehicle equipment. Properly trained personnel should perform all tire servicing. Failure to comply with these procedures as well as procedures recommended by Tire Manufacturers and Wheel and Rim Manufacturers may result in faulty positioning of the tire and or rim and may cause the assembly to burst with explosive force sufficient to cause serious physical injury or death. 393 • The sole intent of this catalog is to aid the Ascot Distributors and their customers in the resale of automotive related parts. HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE AND CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65 PRODUCT INFORMATION: Material Data Safety Sheets for products containing OSHA defined hazardous substances and a list of products known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm are available upon request from Ascot Supply Corp. • Ascot Supply Corp. disclaims all express and implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Ascot Supply Corp. also disclaims liability for personal injury, property damage or consequential damages. • IMPORTANT: Snap-In passenger valve stems are safe for tire pressures up to a maximum of 60 psi (cold tire pressure) and for a maximum rim thickness of .156” (3.96mm). If greater pressure or rim thickness is required, metal clamp-in valve stems are recommended. • Ascot Supply Corp. Does Not recommend “temporary” tire repairs. All repairs should perform the function of filling or replacing the injured section as recommended by the RMA and other industry associations. • Always wear eye protection when using air tools, wheels, cups and rasps. • WARNING: Always wear safety goggles when using striking or struck tools. Never use one hammer to strike another hammer. Never use a striking tool with a loose or damaged handle. Discard any striking or struck tool if it shows dents, cracks, chips or mushrooming. • CAUTION: Use all chemicals and cements in a well ventilated area. Avoid prolonged breathing or inhalation of vapors. • For best results, check tire pressure when tires are cold or when the vehicle has not been driven for several hours. Readings taken after prolonged driving at high speeds will increase tire pressure causing a false reading. Check tire pressure at least once a week or as necessary.
