Crystal Surette held her 1-year-old baby, Madeline, during her visit with Santa. She got to see him as an infant last year. Brian Cross did the honors again, as the DJ of the night, playing holiday music. Lily Erikson, 8, of Saugus, got to be the first kid to greet Santa Claus this year. Brielle Doherty, 3, sat with Santa Claus at last Friday night’s Tree Lighting Ceremony and Festivities. Santa waves to the crowd. Annual Tree Lighting and Festivities Children gather near the entrance at Town Hall to turn on the switch. The Saugus High School Band performed in the rain underneath a tarp set up on the front lawn at Town Hall. The crowd waits for Santa Claus. The Christmas lights go on, marking the start of the holiday season in Saugus.
