Carroll, Jr. Born in Medford and a resident of Saugus for most of his life, Mr. Carroll was the son of the late Charles G. and Louise (Walsh) Carroll. A U.S. Air Force Vet., he was a retired patrolman for the Saugus Police Department where he worked for 33 years. Charlie was also a member of the American Legion Post 210. In addition to his wife, Mr. CarO f Saugus. Died on Wednesday, August 26th at Salem Hospital at the age of 86. This event is cosponsored by DCR, Friends of Breakheart, Saugus Cultural Council and SAVE. • Saugus Olympics Day at World Series Park in Saugus will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nancy Kerrigan, a former Olympics medalist, will take part in the opening ceremony and will be available to meet and greet those in attendance. Other former Olympics medalists, including athletes who competed in this year’s Winter Olympics, have been invited. Funds raised from the event will go to Challenger Baseball and Boys & Girls Club. This recognition of Prisoners of War and Missing In Action is to honor and know “You are not forgotten.” The Mums arrive Sept. 18 The 7th Annual Saugus Youth Soccer Mums Fall Fundraiser begins on Friday, Sept. 18, at Anna Parker Field (located at 124 Essex St. next door to the Essex Street Fire Station). Saugus Youth Soccer will be selling beautiful, hardy mums. There will be multi colors to choose from. The fundraiser will run Sept 18, 19 & 20, while supplies last. The mums are priced at $9 each or three for $25. Saugus Youth Soccer has ordered more than 250 hardy mums, so don’t hesitate to come down to the field to support Saugus Youth Soccer.
