She was the beloved wife of Joseph C. Politano with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. Born and raised in East Boston, Mrs. Politano was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antonetta (Indelicato) Suarez. She was a former customer service representative for Aetna/ Cigna Insurance for over twenty years. A resident of Saugus for 55 years, Mercedes enjoyed cooking and crocheting. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Politano is survived by her daughter, Diane (Politano) Carpenter of Georgetown; grandson, Kenneth Carpenter and his wife Stacey; two great granddaughters, Mercedes and Julianna; sister, Camille Casarano of Danvers.
