LaBollita went on to explain that 50 percent of students in Revere’s elementary schools are learning English, while one quarter of middle school students and a quarter of students at Revere High are learning English. Courtesy of Melrose Arts and Crafts) T he December meeting of the Melrose Arts & Crafts Society was held last Monday, December 11, at Melrose First Baptist Church at 9:00 a.m. There were two classes in the morning: making money ties with Linda Camberlain using brand-new 16 one dollar bills with origami techniques; making Smurf ornaments and Santa hats taught by Gerri Tremonte. After the classes, a general meeting was held. During the meeting, 2022-2023 Secret Pals were revealed and new Secret Pals for 2023-2024 were given out to those members wanting to participate. Everyone was excited about the holidays and enjoyed the social time after the meeting to talk with their friends. Our next meeting will be held January 22, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in First Baptist Church. All artists and crafters are welcome. We have members from 10 cities and towns around Melrose, from Chelsea to Winchester.
