THE REVERE ADVOCATE – FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2025 Page 3 Revere Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from Government Finance Officers Association City has received twelve straight certifi cates of achievement, dating back to FY2013 C HIGAGO, IL — Government Finance Offi cers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certifi cate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Revere for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fi scal year ended June 30, 2024. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its fi nancial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. The Certifi cate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and fi - nancial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. “It is no surprise to me that the City of Revere has received this award every year for more than a decade,” commented Mayor Patrick M. Keefe Jr. “Our careful financial choices, paired with the discretion and professionalism of our Finance team, have made for, yet again, a great success for our city,” he added. “I am very proud of the work of the fi nance team in the city that has yet again helped us in achieving our 12th straight Certifi cate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, dating back to FY2013,” commented Chief of Finance, Richard Viscay. “The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Certificate Program in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare annual comprehensive fi - nancial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal,” he noted. Viscay concluded, “The Certifi cate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and fi nancial reporting, and the city of Revere is honored to be able to maintain this level of fi nancial reporting to its constituents and stakeholders.” Lawrence A.
