The Crimson Tide stayed perfect at 6-0 on the season in the Greater Boston League (GBL) and can claim an outright league championship with a win on the road over Malden. That game was played last night in Malden (after press deadline). Everett was also looking to fi nish strong before the start of the MIAA State Football Playoff s, which start next week. The top 16 teams in each division face off in quarterfi nals action next weekend, with Everett expected to host a home game with its unbeaten mark. Against Medford, Everett started fast with 27 points in the fi rst quarter for a commanding lead. Ismael Zamor scored on a three-yard run on the fi rst Tide drive. Senior JC Clerveaux then scored on a 13-yard run before scoring a second touchdown on a 60-yard run. Junior Cam Mohamed added a fourth touchdown on a 21-yard run for Everett. Tide defensive tackle Donovan Gaskins returned a fumble for a touchdown, and defensive back Ramar Robinson did the same when he ran back a Medford fumble for a 101-yard touchdown, which may be a school record. **** Revere Boys Soccer fi nishes strong with a win and a tie The Revere High boys soccer team fi nished the regular season strong and now awaits their postseason playoff seeding notifi cation. Revere tied Chelsea, 1-1, on a goal by Keny Guerrero Alvarez. Bryan Medina had the assist for the Patriots. Revere got the first of two wins for the week with an offensive show in a 5-1 win over Malden on the road. Scoring goals for Revere were Felipe Maia, David Paiva, Keny Guerrero, Jeff erson Pineda Mejia and Joao Cunha. Revere improved to 8-5-4 with the week’s work, which included a forfeit win over Charlestown. Non-league opponent Newton North was scheduled to come to Della Russo Stadium on Saturday at 10 a.m. for the regular season fi nale. **** Malden Boys Soccer qualifi es for postseason with pair of wins in last two games In a great display of ongoing Greater Boston League goodwill around the league, coaches and seniors from the Malden High and Revere High fi eld hockey teams gathered together before their recent game to recognize all the seniors, including the lone Golden Tornadoes senior being honored on Senior Day, Lydia Li. (Advocate Photo) They took it “down to the wire,” but Head Coach Jeremiah Smith’s Malden High Boys Soccer team snagged a postseason MIAA Division 1 State Boys Soccer Tournament with a pair of wins. Malden topped nonleaguer Whittier Tech on Monday, 3-1, in the rain and then got an unexpected forfeit win over Lynn English on Wednesday. Malden fi nished the regular season at 7-7-4 with the pair of wins and now awaits word on its state tourney fate. (Paid Pol. Adv.)
