The big diff erence, however, is that unlike stadium parking, we can pass through the police roadblocks around the stadium and use the local neighborhoods. That means you get in and out quickly. You won’t have to wait an hour just to get out of the lot. Once we arrive, I supply virtually everything. I have coolers, corn hole boards, chairs, tables, cups, plates, utensils, music, and a gas grill if you want to cook or I can arrange catering,” added Viarella. Recently, the North East Tartan Army returned to the United States. As many know, the Army and the people of Scotland brought so much fun and excitement to the city of Boston during the World Cup this summer. “I found the North East Tartan Army on Facebook a few weeks before the World Cup. Their leader, Kevin Lynch was online looking for transportation to and from Gillette Stadium. I answered his request and ended up spending four days with Kevin and the rest of the North East Tartan Army. We had an absolute blast. I also took them to Boston Harbor for their boat cruise and to Fenway Park.” The experience brought them back to Gillette last week. “During the four days I struck up a friendship with Kevin and the other members of the group, and we stayed in touch afterwards. I found out that they had made a special Patriots themed kilt and asked Chris Gibson (Gibby) who created it if I could buy one. He told me no, because he planned to give me one for free. I said fi ne but that means I need to drive you around when you come back to Boston in October. “When they arrived in Boston, they asked me if I could drive them to Gillette so that they could in their words ‘drop off ’ the kilt. When we arrived, they said, ‘We’re so glad you guys are early; we have a big day planned for you.’ They then proceeded to take us on a tour of the entire stadium including the lighthouse. After that they said, ‘We are going to take you guys down to the practice fi eld because some of the players want to meet you.’ Once there we got to meet Pop Douglas and New England Revolution player Diego Fagundez. Both gave us some signed jerseys, which was awesome. We also met lineman Lorenz Metz and saw many other players, including Drake May and Will Campbell. Once it was all over, we ran into Bob Kraft on the way out. I’m so angry with myself for not being fast enough to take a picture. He gave Gibby a Patriots 911 pin.
