After competing on Revere’s relatively fl at home course for four consecutive weeks, the Patriots faced steep hills and a diffi cult, wooded section that required considerably diff erent racing strategies. Senior captain Emma DeCrosta fi nished second overall in 24 minutes, 19 seconds, staying alongside the eventual winner until the wooded portion of the race. Sophomore Jaelyn Torres delivered an especially impressive performance, fi nishing eighth in 29:35 while recording a personal-best pace despite the challenging terrain. Afomiya Wondemagegnhu placed 10th in 32:06, followed by Tram Vu in 12th at 36:45 and Rania Abboud in 14th at 39:05. Sinnott said the performances demonstrated that her runners remain strong as the season approaches its conclusion. The coach also highlighted the growing enthusiasm for distance running beyond school competition. DeCrosta, Kosta Stamatopoulos, Diogo Yogi and Emanuel Soares Taylor participated in the Revere 5K on Oct. 10. Wondemagegnhu and Soares Taylor also competed in the Boston Firefi ghters 10K the following day. Sinnott hopes that enthusiasm continues beyond graduation, pointing to former Revere runners Erika Cheever, who competed in the 2026 Berlin Marathon, and Olivia Rupp, who participated in the 2026 Newport Marathon, as examples of athletes who have continued pursuing distance running after high school.
