The team has competed in three GBL league meets against Chelsea, Medford, Malden and Somerville. Garfi eld Midde School 8th grader Gianni Noel has placed in the fi rst three meets, fi nishing 6th, 5th and 7th. Rumney Marsh Academy 6th grader Brianna Nascimento has also shown vast improvement, fi nishing in the top 20 in the fi rst three meets, including breaking the top 15 at the last meet. The team is led by captains Sophia Llanos and Gianna Bejar, who are 7th graders at Rumney Marsh Academy. Noor Tooued, Samantha Pineda, Ryan Patel, Yahya Sallaki, Davesh Patel, Mariam Khassim, Kimberly Perez, Susan Hernandez and Catalina Garces Saldana round out the roster. The team will close out the season with their fi nal meet at Somerville this week and the GBL Championships in Medford on October 15.
