Page 4 THE REVERE ADVOCATE - Friday, September 6, 2019 ~ Councillor’s Corner ~ Correggio endorsed by Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local 3 T he BAC Local 3 Officers have endorsed the candidacy of John Correggio for the Revere City Council – At Large. John Correggio is a longtime friend of BAC Local 3. He firmly believes and shares in our union values and backs them up with actions. Throughout his adult life, he has relentlessly supported workers in their quest to provide a better quality of life for themselves and their families. He is a staunch advocate of the prevailing wage law and union only project labor agreements on construction projects. Over the years his eforts have produced numerous hours of work for Local 3 members, something which has been lacking under the present Mayor and City Council. John Correggio has always supported us and now is the time for us to support him. We strongly urge you, your family and friends to vote for John Correggio for the Revere City Council – At Large, on primary election day, Tuesday, September 10th. Thank you for your consideration. Fraternally yours, Charles Raso President Driver gets stuck on beach trying to retrieve boat By Tara Vocino A Jeep attempting to pull a boat out of the water reportedly ended up on Revere Beach Tuesday night. According to Massachusetts State Trooper James DeAngelis, no charges were filed and a tow truck removed the 2012 Jeep from the beach near 540 Revere Beach Blvd. at approximately 8:15 p.m. The driver, whose name wasn’t released, was issued a verbal warning. Mechanical failure was likely to blame, according to DeAngelis. The Jeep was on the sand, but its proximity to the water was unclear. “It’s not permitted to remove boats on and off the beach using cars,” DeAngelis said. “But we decided that enforcement wasn’t the best course of action.” State Police were on the scene for a little more than a half hour and the boulevard was temporarily closed.
