Page 4 THE REVERE ADVOCATE – FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2026 TURCO ANNOUNCMENT | FROM Page 3 ish council member at St. Michael the Archangel Church, former Winthrop Town Council President, a three-time elected member of the Democrat State Committee, and a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish School Board, I have worked to give back to two communities that have given me and my family so much. Giving back is, of course, a biblical command: “[t] o those whom much is given, much is expected.” During my 1st race for State Representative, I promised to focus on: 1. addressing the scourge of drugs and addiction, 2. the need for improved vocational school opportunities for our children, 3. always supporting our public safety community, and 4. to always be a voice for the forgotten working class that continues to pay the bills in this Commonwealth. I am pleased to take account of the progress made to date. It is worth noting, nothing gets done on Beacon Hill without many hands, many voices and lots of compromise and so all of my colleagues deserve credit for working to put people before politics in working to fi nd solutions such as: 1. Passing the most comprehensive substance use, addiction treatment reform in a generation; giving hope to more families and the affl icted for the fi rst time in a generation. 2. Opening the new Northeast Regional Vocational School this fall at 150% of its previous capacity, increasing opportunities for tomorrow’s union carpenters, electricians, plumbers, health care workers and other trade careers. 3. Improving the working conditions for members of our public safety community including: removal of dangerous PFAS from fi re safety equipment, cost free cancer screening for fi refi ghters, retirement reform for those forced out of work because of crimes of violence, amongst many others. For these reasons, every major public safety union, fi re and police, have endorsed my re-election. I am honored to have their support and to always back them. 4. Decreasing the cost of living by working with my colleagues and Governor Healey to enact a $1.2 billion dollar tax cut, the largest in the history of the Commonwealth. In addition, we made school breakfast and lunch free for every child in the Commonwealth because children can’t learn if they are hungry and worker families need financial relief. We have also invested unprecedented money in both our public schools and our public transit while demanding better results and improved service. All of these efforts are focused on improved aff ordability and quality of life for our neighbors. There is so much more to celebrate and so much more to work on. As elected offi cials, we have an obligation to lead and to demonstrate that despite the national political scene, we in Massachusetts can work through diff erences while we focus on what is best                                                                                for our constituents. For this reason, I am honored to have the endorsement of Governor Healey. Despite our disagreements, we have worked together on her tax cut bill, on a pending energy rate relief bill, on our mutual support of our public safety community, on reform of our health care delivery system and on demanding consistent improvements in our public education system. For the past two years, I have been privileged to serve as the House Vice Chairman of the Joint Committee on Veteran and Federal Aff airs and as a member of the Joint Committee on Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy. These committee assignments allow me the opportunity to make sure our veterans are always top of mind in all policy making decisions and to be a voice for the working class in the fi ght against crushingly high utility bills. This work continues every day. Finally, to the nearly 3,500 constituents who have contacted my offi ce over the past fi ve and a half years for assistance, thank you for reaching out and for the opportunity to assist you in your time of need. In the end, 90% of this job is helping people and you have given me that great honor. As the primary season nears its fi nish, I ask for your continued trust, confi dence and your VOTE in the September 1, 2026 Democrat primary. I will continue to fi ght for you every day. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at: jrturco@aol. com or call my cell phone at 508 405 8843. Be well, Jeff rey Rosario Turco State Representative ~ OP-ED ~ Mayor Patrick Keefe supports Re-Election of State Representative Jeffrey Turco A s Mayor, the greater good the City of Revere and its constituents is my top priority, and it is especially important to have reliable colleagues who help me achieve this. Therefore, it is my privilege to ask for your support of my colleague and friend, Representative Jeffrey Turco in his re-election for the 19th Suff olk District. The City of Revere is a team, and Rep. Turco has steadily remained part of my team, fi ghting for what is best for our city, our home. Throughout his service, Rep. Turco has been greatly successful in bringing home state funds for the City of Revere. For example, he has helped us move forward with one of Revere’s largest recent undertakings, the redevelopment of the McKinley School, through a $100,000 earmark. Because of this funding, our new state of the art MNRECC 911 Call Center and Early Childhood Education Center are expected to be completed in the Fall of 2027. Additionally, Rep. Turco has advocated for youth employment in Revere through our YouthWorks Department, by helping us fund the opportunity for hundreds of teens and young adults to gain early work experience at Revere city departments and beyond. His work isn’t stopping there, either. Rep. Turco plays an essential role in fi ghting for Massport to properly compensate Revere as a municipality directly impacted by Logan Airport traffi c. We all know that when working with local government, communication is key. I am confi dent that Rep. Turco shares my prominent value in accessibility to his offi ce as a resource for constituents and colleagues alike. His honesty, kindness and true care in service are clear factors that have earned him local reputability and the support of every elected official in Revere. I kindly ask Revere to continue to support Representative Jeffrey Turco with your vote on September 1. Your vote isn’t just for him, but for our team, our livelihood, and the positive progress we can make in Revere.   
