BK’s Bar & Grill T he commission held a public hearing into State Police complaints of numerous disruptions, service to intoxicated patrons, assaults and fi ghts at BK’s Bar & Grill. Commission Chairman Robert Selevitch said the commission had received a letter from police that explained that the situation at BK’s Bar & Grill has been improving. Police Sgt. Edward Troy has been working with BK’s on potential improvements, such as better checks of identifi cation, earlier time for last call and barring customers who have been in fi ghts. “It’s been a short time but the last couple of weeks have been better,” said Selevitch. The commission placed the complaints on fi le. said he was glad to hear that the affordable units would be dispersed throughout the building, rather than relegated to one corner. Alpert also said the city needs a function hall. Ward 1 Councillor James Mercurio praised the building’s aesthetic appeal but said R evere hosted the Boston Karate Championships on the weekend of July 23. The event was full of competitors from all over the nation and the world. Manique was also at the Revere Beach Farmer’s Market to give RTV viewers a tour of the fi rst weekend of the event. She interviewed Revere Board of Health Director Lauren Buck, who organizes the Farmer’s Market each year, as well as some of the vendors that were there. The market is at a new location this summer: in the green space between Ocean Avenue and Revere Beach Boulevard. It will continue there was not enough parking. “They don’t have ample parking for this size building,” said Mercurio. The developers planned to use the Wonderland Transit Overlay Development District, which is close to public transportation, to mitigate parking requirements.
