Died on Monday, July 27th at her home surrounded by the love and care of her family, following a lengthy illness. She was 86 years old. Elena was a native of Bonito, Avellino, in Italy where she was proudly raised and educated by her late parents, Pellegrino and Olina (Grieco) Beatrice. She journeyed to the US in 1959 with her family. She went back to Avellino where she married her husband, Orazio “Nick” Coccimiglio on June 28, 1962, in a double wedding ceremony in which her sister, Assunta, was Jay Sasso married to her husband, Frank, at the same time. Immediately following, they came back to the US and settled in Revere. Elena was a devoted wife and mother of her four children. She provided a home with faith, love and food. She was an incredible cook and loved to feed her family and extended family, often using herbs and vegetables from her own garden. Elena always put her family fi rst. She was very close to her siblings who also lived nearby and cherished having family gatherings. Her greatest blessing in life was her family. Along with being a happy homemaker and raising her four children, Elena also cared for many friends’ and extended family’s children at her home. These children have become a part of her extended family as well. Throughout the years, Elena worked several jobs including Strager Counter Shoe & Heel company, the Fernwood restaurant and Louise’s Ravioli all located in Revere. She also worked at the Sweetheart paper company in Chelsea. She is the beloved wife of 53 years of the late Orazio “Nick” Coccimiglio. The loving mother of Trev Coccimiglio & his wife Grace Galdo of Revere, Olina Roberto & her husO f Revere. Entered into rest on July 25th at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Nicole Sasso (formerly Angiulo) for 36 years. Devoted father of Jay Sasso and his wife Heather of Danvers, and Janel Sasso of Revere. Adored grandfather of Lily, Isla and Meadow Sasso of Danvers. Cherished son of Arlene and Charles Zaccaria of Glen, NH and the late Joseph Sasso. The loving brother of Jane DiPaola and husband Roy of Peabody, Jodi Rich and late husband Dennis of Wakefi eld, MA, the late John Sasso, John Zaccaria and wife Regan of Peabody, MA and Michael Zaccaria and wife Maura of Amherst, NH. Beloved grandson of the late Ignazio and Doris Aiello and Joseph and Anna Sasso. Beloved brother-in-law to Salvatore and the late Bernadette DeAngelis. Cherished uncle of Michael Sasso, Matthew Bossi and wife Jaclyn, Kristina Russell and husband Will, Gina Doyle and husband Jordan, Alana, Elise and Mia Rich, Michael, Marissa, Reardon and Ada Zaccaria, Janet Ruzzo and husband Ralph, Salvatore DeAngelis and wife Kristen, Francesca and Sal DeAngelis and Amara Ruzzo. He is also survived by many loving cousins. Jay was born on August 23rd 1962 in Winthrop. He grew up in Revere and later Lynnfi eld before settling with his wife in Revere and starting their family. Throughout his life, Jay was known for his kindness, generosity, unmatched work ethic and his devotion to his craft. He dedicated numerous years to Massey Construction, where he was respected as a Lead Carpenter/Supervisor for his band Anthony of Middleton, Nick Coccimiglio of Revere & the Late Dina Coccimiglio- Ferrera. Cherished Nana of Paige and her fi ancé Benjamin, Krystalyne, Zachary and his wife Rachel, Giana, Frenchie, Gabriella and Anthony. She is the great grandmother of Vivienne Clara. Dear sister of Assunta Licciardi and her late husband Frank of Revere. She was predeceased by her siblings Nicolena Masiello and her husband Carmen, Angela Devito and her husband Frank, Antonietta Colarusso and her husband Carmen, Michelina DiPlacido and her husband Pasquale and Fillipo Beatrice and his wife Cristina. She was also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Family & friends were invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, July 30th in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza, Beechwood Home for Funerals. A funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, July 31st beginning at 10 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere. Interment will immediately follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. His Massey Construction crew were family to him and he treasured working alongside each of them every day. Outside of work, he found joy in simple comforts and pleasures. He loved hitting the gym every day (no days off EVER!), spending time with his family, sunbathing, watching history documentaries or boxing matches, his mother’s delicious pizza dolce and a good slice of cheesecake. He especially loved spending Sundays at his son’s house and bringing Dunkin Donuts to his three granddaughters. His deep love and devotion to his family, exceptional discipline and pure toughness is what we will always remember him by. A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 1st at 9AM at Buonfi glio’s Funeral Home, 128 Revere Street, Revere. A mass will follow at 11AM at St. Anthony’s Church in Revere.
