At the à la Carte Ballroom Dance Competition, which was held on May 24-25 at the Sheraton Monarch Place Hotel in Springfield, Mass., Revere resident Albert Nicholls, a member of the Danceport Academy of New England (DANE) dance studio team, competed in the Ballroom Dance Competition. With his Instructor Saori DeSouza as his partner, Nicholls entered 12 dance heats in the beginner, intermediate and full Silver categories in the 61-63-year-old level. He placed first twice, in second place three times and in third place seven times in American Smooth Waltz and Tango dances as well as the American Rhythm: Rumba and Cha-Cha dances.
