Up fi rst was the Parking Department asking for approval of the plan to move forward and install 17 parking meters for public use at Gibson Apartments. The Commission voted to move the meter plan to a public hearing. Ward 3 Councillor Anthony Cogliandro requested 24-hour resident permit parking for Prince Street. The Commission acknowledged recent problems but members felt they were temporary and would be resolved once construction in the area is completed. The request was tabled. The Commission also heard a request generated by a new resident and renter learning about the city’s parking challenges. The Commission was asked to remove the parking regulation that makes multi-families with six or more units ineligible for parking stickers. Commissioners agreed this would open up a huge issue throughout. Novoselsky said 20 mph was more appropriate for a residential street and more like other streets in the city. He stressed that the request to reduce the speed limit was made by residents.
