By Tara Vocino M ore than 400 people raised approximately $31,000 for a Doug McGrath, a Saugus resident and former coach of Revere youth baseball who passed away from pancreatic cancer on Wednesday afternoon. The Neighborhood Developers will finance 571 Revere St. in order to offer a range of affordable rents. “Of the 51 homes, 40 will have rents that range from $970 to $1,800 for a one-bedroom apartment, $1,110 to $2,125 for a two-bedroom apartment and about $1,220 for a three-bedroom apartment,” Mares said. “The remaining 11 will have a rent that is 30 percent of the renter’s household income.” According to Mares, six of the 32 affordable units will be for households at or below 30 percent of Area Median Income and for vulnerable populations through the Community Based Housing and Facilities Consolidation Fund program. Five of these units will be for households at or below 50 percent of Area Median Income. Those rents will range from under $1,000 for an affordable one-bedroom apartment to slightly more than $2,000 for a workforce twobedroom apartment.
