The man, who has yet to be identified, is Malden’s third slaying victim this year and fourth in the past 11 months. According to a statement from authorities, the victim was in front of the 7-Eleven store at 169 Salem St. at about 9:40 p.m. when he apparently had an interaction with a group of several individuals. One of them opened fire and struck the victim, according to reports. No one besides the shooting victim was reported injured in the fatal assault. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made and authorities have not provided a description of the shooting suspect, according to a statement from the offi ce of Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan. Malden Police, including Chief Kevin Molis, were on the scene of the fatal shooting within minutes of the weapon being fi red. The parking lot was cordoned off immediately by police vehicles, and the area directly in front of the store where the shooting took place was roped off with traffi c cones and police tape. Malden Police patrolmen, detectives and Chief Molis were seen examining the area closely, seeking evidence. Saturday’s fatal shooting claimed the fourth slaying victim in Malden in the past 11 months, dating back to the shooting of 18-year-old Jaden Brito-White near his Bowdoin Street Apartments home on Dec. 29, 2020. A 20-year-old Everett man, Sifeddine Rogadi was arrested by Malden Police and charged with murder in connection with the case on Jan. 11 of this year and remains in custody pending trial. A second suspect in that shooting murder remains at large. On July 6, a 30-year-old Malden woman was shot and killed during an armed robbery by a suspect known to her family, in her Ashland Street home in the city’s Bell Rock neighborhood. (Advocate Photo) arrested that same day and was arraigned on murder and other charges in connection with the slaying. He remains in custody without bail. A second suspect was charged in connection with the case as well, for allegedly bringing the suspect to the scene and helping him fl ee afterward. A fourth murder victim, 34-year-old Brian McDonald, was hacked to death by a samurai sword-wielding suspect on August 15 in his Presley Street home in the quiet Edgeworth neighborhood. Malden Police arrested the victim’s roommate, 53-year-old Jordan Roush, hours after the attack, following a standoff , before Roush surrendered. Roush remains in custody without bail, pending further hearings and an eventual trial on murder and other charges.
