The shooting involved State Police troopers and occurred on Beach Street at about 12:35 p.m. Reports say an officer shot a man armed with a knife. There was no ongoing threat to the public, police said. The medical condition of the suspect was not known at press time and there was no report whether any of the offi cers involved were injured.
