THE MALDEN ADVOCATE–Friday, October 9, 2026 Page 11 erett 28-yard line on its opening drive, only to stall out backed by some solid Tide defense when it counted, just before Malden could get into the Red Zone. That ended up being as far as Malden would penetrate the Everett defense for the rest of the night, as the Tide stood up to mostly anything the Golden Tornado offense tried to muster. Walsh and Everett answered as he led a methodical, 13-play drive the other way that ate up most of the first quarter and was capped by a 2-yard touchdown plunge by senior captain Tyler Freni just before end of the period. Luca Da Silva then buried the first of five point-after touchdown kicks for a 7-0 lead. Walsh, who finished with 148 yards passing on 9-of-15 tosses, got the air raid game going in the second quarter, hitting on a pair of TD passes — numbers six and seven on the season — first a 37-yard TD dart across the middle to Jeremiah Joseph for a 13-0 lead with 8:02 left in the first half. The Crimson Tide 9th-grader then found his favorite target, Jamauri Dulin, open for a 21-yard TD pass in the right corner of the Malden end zone for 20-0 lead; Da Silva’s kick gave Everett a 21-0 halftime lead. Everett appeared to be going in for another score, deep in Malden’s end of the field in front of the scoreboard late in the second quarter, but the Tornado defense stiffened and the 21-0 deficit for the home team stood up. Everett continued to play ball control in the third quarter with Steve Thomas finishing another long offensive drive with a 4-yard TD run midway through the period. *** EXTRA POINTS: Not only does EVERETT 35, MALDEN 6 Everett 7 Malden High 0 BOX SCORE 14 7 00 6-6 First quarter Everett — Tyler Freni 2-yard run (Luca Da Silva kick) Second quarter Everett — Jeremiah Joseph 37-yard pass from Michael Walsh (Luca Da Silva kick) Third quarter Everett — Steve Thomas 4-yard run (Luca Da Silva kick) Fourth quarter Malden — Arioc Akre 81-yard kickoff return (rush failed) Everett — Michael Walsh 11-yard run (Luca Da Silva kick) (Luca Da Silva kick) Everett — Jamauri Dulin 21-yard pass from Michael Walsh no Malden High running back have close to 4,000 career rushing yards, but no Golden Tor- nado back has ever surpassed 3,000 for a career… The second-leading Malden High rusher is 1986 Malden High grad Reggie Hayes, who ran for 2,378 yards in two seasons for Malden, in 1984 and 1985...
