The annual exhibition gives artist members the opportunity to demonstrate many and various ways to create work. In addition, artists explore a wide selection of themes. Several of the artists have turned to nature for ideas and reflection. Others have chosen to work abstractly and focus on the artistic process itself. In “Shimmering Moonlight, a Quiet Night at the Lake,” Malden artist Sand T Kalloch finds inspiration in places she has been, and the places she wants to be. These reference points assist her to make connections across reality and fantasy. In presenting this body of work, she hopes to encourage conversations about the reality we live in and the landscapes of the imagination. The talent and dedication of the 42 artists participating in this year’s exhibition are shown through painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed-media work, sculptural pieces, and fiber art. Creativity, imagination and originality are the common threads that unify the work in this exhibit.
