THE MALDEN ADVOCATE–Friday, September 11, 2026 Page 13 OBITUARIES Linda Ann (Bean) Pardee 60, of Melrose, a fearless musician, graphic designer, and larger than life presence in the Boston music scene, died on August 16, 2026, after living with metastatic breast cancer with the same style and humor she brought to everything she did. Born in Somerville on March 31, 1966, and raised in Malden, Linda built her life around music, art, and community. She was best known as the singer and bassist of The Chelsea Curve, carrying the torch for sharp, melodic pop punk and the mod and scooter scene with her unmistakable voice and stage presence. Offstage, her graphic design work shaped the look of countless bands, album covers, posters, and shows. She especially loved traveling to England, where she brought her music, style, and openness to meeting new friends and fans to every stage and street she landed on. At home in Melrose, she and her husband opened their doors to touring bands from overseas with the kind of hospitality that turned musicians into family. Linda is survived by her husband and partner in all adventures, Calvin Pardee V, and their son, Calvin Pardee VI, both of Melrose. She was the loving sister of Joanne Alvarez and her husband Juan of Raymond, NH, David Bean and his wife Sandy of North Reading, and John Bean of Malden. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, David Bean and Frances (Matiejunas) Bean of Malden. Her loss is deeply felt by her extended family, her bandmates in The Chelsea Curve and throughout the bands she's played with over the years, the music communities near and far, and friends and fans around the world who were moved by her songs, her style, and her fierce, joyful spirit. Family and friends are invited to gather in honor of Linda's life during Visiting Hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 2-5pm with a Family and Friends Eulogy at 4:30. He enlisted in 1962, and completed his training at Fort Dix before proudly serving during the Vietnam War. Bobby is survived by his beautiful wife of 50 years and the love of his life, Patricia, (Pattie). He was predeceased by his brother Thomas and sisters Roberta and Debra. He leaves behind his sister Janet (DeRoche) and brotherin-law Michael Feeley of Malden; his brother-in-law John DeRoche and his wife Dawn of Lynnfield. He will be incredibly missed by his nephews and nieces, Jack and Maria (Edwards) Feeley of Revere, John and George DeRoche of Lynnfield, and his treasured great nephew and niece John and Mia Feeley of Revere. He also leaves behind dear cousins Jim & Cathy McCarthy and their family of Cape Coral, Florida; and long-time friend John Pesce of Salem, NH. Bobby was the owner of R&R Paving in Malden, MA for many years. He then bought property in Everett, MA and opened Veterans Towing & Auto Body. Bobby also did recovery towing and towed for the Everett Police Department for over 45 years, and worked on the ''Big Dig'' in Boston. In his youth, Bobby loved the muscle cars. He bought a new 1966 GTO Qnd loved to do some drag racing. He always had the nicest cars and loved to hear that he and his GTO were the topic of discussion at Mr. Donuts in Revere, MA. Bobby was a devoted husband, uncle and godfather. He looked forward to Sunday Dinners with the family. Bobby will be remembered for his warm heart, strong spirit, sense of humor and the endless collection of stories that he shared with those who knew and loved him.
