A single resident of the unit that was destroyed in the fire, identified at the scene as an elderly woman, managed to flee her trailer residence unharmed. In fact, the ex-Tornado league All-Stars have simply been scoring up a storm for their new team, Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill. team defeated Westchester Community College on Saturday, September 5, with a score of 2-1. Both goals for the Knights were scored by Malden residents and former Malden High School varsity soccer standouts. The first goal was scored by Mike Joseph, and the second goal — and game-winner — was scored by Mattheus Martins on a penalty kick. The victory extended Northern Essex’s win streak to two games in a row. NECC won in a blowout, 7-2, Tuesday night over visiting New Hampshire Technical Institute to extend the winning streak to three in a row.
