Approximately 32 children from nine communities participated. ALDEN, MA – State senate candidate Carey McDonald has consolidated the support of progressive organizations in the race for the open 5th Middlesex seat, as the campaign enters its final month before the Democratic primary. Today’s week’s announcement that Progressive Mass is endorsing McDonald is a major milestone; the state’s premier statewide grassroots progressive organization selects endorsements through direct votes of its members. Carey McDonald is a threeterm Malden city councillor and Finance committee chair, a nonprofit executive, and working parent. Carey is running for the State Senate in the 5th Middlesex to take on Beacon Hill’s lack of urgency, and to fight for the opportunities our communities need. Spotting Scams L earn to get better at spotting scams! Join the Malden Public Library on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 6-7 p.m. for “Spotting Scams” with financial advisor Gandy Louisne. He’ll be talking about identifying scams and fraud, and the different steps you can take to protect yourself. This program is filled with advice for everyone from young adults to seniors, and is provided for free by the Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s WealthTrek Center.
