Born on June 4, 1955, Phillip was known for his kind heart, warm personality, and friendly presence within the community. He touched the lives of many through his kindness and the simple joys of friendship he shared with neighbors, staff, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Phillip's gentle spirit and positive presence will be remembered fondly by those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and fellow residents. Phillip will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Crematory & Mausoleum in Springfield, Massachusetts. We extend our heartfelt condolences to all who mourn his passing. Blumsack 89, formerly of Malden and Somerville, practicing attorney over 50 years, active in Malden high school, youth & men’s sports A longtime former Malden and Somerville resident, who was a wellknown practicing attorney in the greater Boston area for over 50 years, passed away on July 1, peacefully and surrounded by his family. Raised in his hometown of Somerville, Massachusetts, and a longtime resident of Malden, Alan was the son of the late Anna and Henry Blumsack. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl Blumsack of Stoneham for 49 years. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Blumsack, and is survived by his sister-in-law, Marilyn Blumsack of Andover. He was also the brother of the late Joyce Gladstone and brother-inlaw of her late husband, Karl Gladstone. Alan is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his daughter, Lori Fallon, and her husband, Aidan, of Danvers; his son Scott Blumsack, and his wife, Danielle, of Groton; and his son Brian Blumsack, and his wife, Lindsay, of Stoneham. He was the proud grandfather of Jack and Cara Fallon, Ana and Max Blumsack and Robert and Elizabeth Blumsack, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy. In 1954, Alan graduated from Somerville High School, where he excelled in both baseball and football. After a postgraduate year at Tilton Academy, he attended Boston University, where he continued his passion for baseball as a member of the Terriers. He went on to enjoy a distinguished legal career, practicing as an attorney in Somerville for more than 50 years. He was also a longtime member of the Somerville YMCA.
