THE MALDEN ADVOCATE–Friday, July 22, 2022 Page 5 Cambridge Health Alliance named to Newsweek’s List of Best Maternity Hospitals 2022 CHA recognized for excellence in reducing pregnancy risk C AMBRIDGE, Mass. – Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), a community health system serving Cambridge, Somerville and Boston’s metro-north communities, has been included on Newsweek’s list of Best Maternity Hospitals 2022. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. This honor refl ects CHA’s extensive eff orts to reduce pregnancy risk, including adoption of the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative model and low Cesarean section rates. Newsweek and Statista developed a complex methodology to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking. Three data sources were used for the evaluation: • Nationwide online survey: Hospital managers and healthcare professionals with knowledge about maternity processes (e.g., midwives, neonatal and OB/GYNs) were asked to recommend leading maternity hospitals in the United States • Medical Key Performance Indicators on hospitals with a focus on indicators relevant to maternity care • Results from patient surveys To reduce pregnancy risks, CHA adopted key elements of Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is one of Newsweek’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2022. CHA has expertise in primary care, specialty care and mental health/substance abuse services, as well as caring for diverse and complex populations. CHA includes two hospital campuses, a network of primary care and specialty practices and the Cambridge Public Health Department. Patients at CHA have seamless access to advanced care through the system’s affi liation with Beth Israel Lahey Health.
